{"id":768,"date":"2019-11-22T00:27:34","date_gmt":"2019-11-22T00:27:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.vsb.bc.ca\/mcarmichae\/?p=768"},"modified":"2019-11-25T19:39:04","modified_gmt":"2019-11-25T19:39:04","slug":"anatomy-take-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.vsb.bc.ca\/mcarmichae\/2019\/11\/22\/anatomy-take-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Anatomy Take Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is template number three..<\/p>\n<p>Please look for revisions.<\/p>\n<p>Anatomy and Physio: Take Home Exam<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWritten in the Code\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Your mission to prove understanding of two processes involving DNA.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The two processes you need to explore are:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The process and function of replication.<\/li>\n<li>The process and function of Protein synthesis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You will show proficiency in understand by completing three specific challenges<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Challenge one:<\/p>\n<p>You are to provide a detailed diagram that shows the both structures and functions of \u00a0\u00a0biomolecules involved with DNA replication.<\/p>\n<p>You are to provide a detailed diagram that shows the structures and functions of biomolecules in the process of \u00a0Protein Synthesis.<\/p>\n<p>You are to show all steps of this process including what initiates and stops it.<\/p>\n<p>Your diagram should be a hybrid of many diagrams found within your notes, text and online.<\/p>\n<p>Your diagram should include at least 36 terms found in your references.<\/p>\n<p>( You can make a combined list of terms and processes prior to making the diagram)<\/p>\n<p>Your reference should be a bibliography.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Challenge Two<\/p>\n<p>For each process you need to write a one page (two sided) translational story to discuss the process.<\/p>\n<p>A translational process can be a children\u2019s story, a screenplay, but not a step by step text book description!<\/p>\n<p>Extra mark will be added for creativity.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Challenge Three: Pragmatic Example.<\/p>\n<p>You are to find three practical examples for how replication is linked to either medicine or bioengineering.<\/p>\n<p>You are to find three practical examples of how is DNA and protein synthesis associated with<\/p>\n<p>Gene therapy or biological research.<\/p>\n<p>You provide a descriptive paragraph for each example.<\/p>\n<p>One example should be from popular media.<\/p>\n<p>One example should be from a crediable science resource.<\/p>\n<p>One example should be an abstract from a current lab<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Challenge Four: Find and answer 2 BC provincial written questions<\/p>\n<p>Look up versions of BC provincial Biology exam questions\u00a0 (written portion) and select two questions for each process. You should also include answer key.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The bonus round\u2026Make a link between your two stories to show links associated with the replication of DNA and the process of protein synthesis.
