A sensation may cause either an autonomic or somatic response.

What is somatic and autonic?

Can you coordinate the path of response or does it happen without thinking?

The path of our lessons.

We started off with an outline of notes.

We had a power point to look at the basics of neuron structures and functions.

We started off understanding sending a message from one cell to another.

We looked at the transformation of an electrochemical message to a chemical message that changes the permeability of a cell membrane.

We made a diagram to show how a graph shows a change in voltage within a cell.

For our first evaluation we are going to look at this journey.

When looking at your notes, focus on neurons, synapses, action potential and peripheral nervous system notes information

https://www.google.ca/#safe=strict&q=When+looking+at+your+notes%2C+focus+on+neurons%2C+synapses%2Caction+potential+and+peripheral+nervous+system+notes+information

Now ..looking at all these sites, which focus on the peripheral nervous system?

What can you find that is useful with this site?

http://www.kean.edu/~jfasick/docs/Fall_08_AP_1/Chapter%2011_Part%20I.pdf

From a large volume of information can you refine your search into smaller pieces and then put them into order?

The big picture

http://www.ptdirect.com/training-design/anatomy-and-physiology/the-nervous-system-2013-anatomy-and-function

http://www.emory.edu/ANATOMY/AnatomyManual/nervous_system.html

The individual pieces of the picture

Synapse

https://web.williams.edu/imput/introduction_main.html

Action potential

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Action_potential

Peripheral

https://www.dartmouth.edu/~rswenson/NeuroSci/chapter_3.html

Now seek questions or exams about these pieces.

Do these questions focus on the right topics?

http://wps.pearsoned.co.uk/ema_uk_he_PX_biopsych/216/55486/14204563.cw/content/index.html

What about these?

http://highered.mheducation.com/sites/0072421975/student_view0/chapter17/multiple_choice_quiz.html

Now ..you can use your action potential sheet as a foundation for a study guide.

What things do you want to have?

You challenge is to answer higher level questions that include the word …why.

So try a few more questions to see how thorough your study guide is.

http://www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/story.php?title=nervous-system-exam

Bio 12: Studying for Nervous system We have been using the following path of inquiry to learn about systems. Learn about the “bits” Learn how the “bits” work or interact.
