{"id":1,"date":"2019-06-19T15:08:36","date_gmt":"2019-06-19T15:08:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.vsb.bc.ca\/magee-clc-capstone\/?p=1"},"modified":"2021-09-15T21:33:24","modified_gmt":"2021-09-15T21:33:24","slug":"hello-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.vsb.bc.ca\/magee-clc-capstone\/2019\/06\/19\/hello-world\/","title":{"rendered":"Overview 2021 &#8211; 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Career Life Connections (CLC) 12 is intended to support and guide students in purposeful and ongoing career-life development.\u00a0 In this course students learn how to recognize and cultivate relevant opportunities and supportive relationships, and continually re-evaluate and revise their plans that they began in Career Life Education10.\u00a0 Emphasis in CLC 12 is put on students developing self-awareness and becoming life-long learners who understand that one\u2019s interests may develop and change over time, but that being continually aware of one\u2019s self-identity will shape current and future career and life choices.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLC 12 \/ Capstone is MANDATORY for graduation.<\/strong><br \/>\nPlease note that information, reminders, and updates will be posted using the following modes of communication:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CLC 12 Teams<\/li>\n<li>CLC 12 Blog<\/li>\n<li>MyEd contact email AND\u00a0<em>student#@<\/em>learn.vsb.bc.ca email<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>You are responsible for checking your MS-Teams account and your email on a consistent basis.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><strong>COURSE OVERVIEW<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Career Life Transition Plan<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Resume (current and error free)<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of Capstone Project Proposal<\/li>\n<li>Post Secondary investigation<\/li>\n<li>Progress Meeting for Capstone Project<\/li>\n<li>Complete Capstone Project and prepare presentation<\/li>\n<li>Career Life Exploration 30 hour requirement log and signed verification form<\/li>\n<li>Capstone presentations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Career-life Exploration 30 hour Requirement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students must provide evidence that they have completed at least 30 hours in any of the following ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>30 hours of volunteering in the community <em>(this is separate from volunteering in the school)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>30 hours of paid employment<\/li>\n<li>30 hours of field work, entrepreneurship, or projects focused on an area of deep interest.<\/li>\n<li>Successful completion of Work Experience 11 AND Work Experience 12<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>(<strong>NOTE<\/strong>: any hours that you have completed after completing Grade 10 can be used to fulfill this requirement.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><strong>EVALUATION:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interim report card November 2021. Mid-Year report card TBD. Final report end of June. Final mark based on ALL work for this course. All assignments worth 40% and Capstone project and presentation is 60%.<\/p>\n<p><em>At any time during the year, an <strong>I (incomplete)<\/strong> standing will be issued if you are not up-to-date with the submission of the required assignments.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><strong>CLC 12 TEACHING TEAM<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>D.
