We started our day by meeting at the metro station. Everyone arrived bright and early around 9 am. The group filed into the train and we headed towards Paris. Our first destination was the Mus\u00e9e de l\u2019Arm\u00e9 (H\u00f4tel des Invalides). The goal was to spend some time at the museum admiring the paintings, sculptures, and architecture displayed around the Napoleonic tomb. The high, intricately painted ceilings were astonishing. Followed by shimmering gold accents and the immense casket itself, the entire building was breathtaking. After the group had wandered through the building, we headed out for a quick snack and some souvenir shopping. For the next few hours, we explored the P\u00e8re Lachaise Cemetery. The cemetery contains many famous figures, such as Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde, Frederic Chopin, etc… The P\u00e8re Lachaise Cemetery has hundreds of graves, all unique to each person. Following the cemetery, the group continued on to the Mus\u00e9e D\u2019Orsay. Our group split into two smaller groups that went on separate guided tours. Throughout the museum there were a variety of different paintings, sculptures, architectural displays and pictures. The museum itself was constructed inside an old train station, Le Gare d\u2019Orsay. The building is immense, with a mix of modern and original structures. The museum specializes in impressionist artists, such as Monet or Degas. When the tours were completed, we had free time to look around the \u00a0gallery and enjoy the art. Once \u00a0the time was up, we headed back to Versailles via metro.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le jour a commenc\u00e9 avec le soleil qui brillait dans nos chambres. Notre groupe s\u2019est rencontr\u00e9 \u00e0 9 heures<\/a> du matin \u00e0 la station de train. Nous sommes arriv\u00e9s a l\u2019H\u00f4tel des Invalides o\u00f9 le tombeau de Napol\u00e9on Bonaparte se trouve. C\u2019\u00e9tait tellement magnifique avec toutes les peintures murales dans le b\u00e2timent. Par la suite, on a visit\u00e9 le cimeti\u00e8re P\u00e8re Lachaise et on a vu les tombeaux de Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde, Fryderyk Chopin et beaucoup plus! Finalement, on a explor\u00e9 le mus\u00e9e d\u2019Orsay et on avait un tour guid\u00e9 fantastique. Les peintures et sculptures \u00e9taient exceptionnelles et on a pris tellement belles photos. En g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, on a eu beaucoup de plaisir aujourd\u2019hui, mais la seule partie n\u00e9gative c\u2019\u00e9tait le montant de marche qu\u2019on devait faire!<\/span><\/p>\n
