This program begins the week of<strong> November 12th <\/strong>and will run over 8 classes throughout November and December. \u00a0A letter was given to students and sent home the week of <strong>November 4th. <\/strong>This letter includes detailed information regarding what topics will be covered in this new program.<\/p>\n<p>The learning standards of PHE are to improve student\u2019s physical literacy, healthy and active living, social and community health, and mental well-being.\u00a0The components of the BC Provincial core curriculum guiding PHE which will be covered in the\u00a0<em>Dating Safe<\/em>\u00a0program are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Healthy choices influence our physical, emotional, and mental well-being<\/li>\n<li>Healthy relationships can help us lead rewarding and fulfilling lives<\/li>\n<li>Advocating for the health and well-being of others connects us to our community<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you have any further questions, or did not receive the letter, please do not hesitate to contact your child&#8217;s teacher directly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All Grade 8\u2019s at John Oliver Secondary will be taking part in a pilot project offered through the YWCA called,\u00a0Dating Safe.
