The John Oliver Music Program has a rich history, not only for the students who attended the school, but it was once regarded as the role model for choral singing throughout Canada!\u00a0 Teo Repel was the music director at John Oliver, the largest high school in Canada, and had taken the choir on a tour in Europe to sing for the Queen.<\/p>\n

Meet your Music Director:<\/p>\n

Mr. Kumar is a graduate from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Music and Education.\u00a0 He has been a teacher with the VSB since finishing his practicum at VanTech in 2013.\u00a0 Mr. Kumar has held positions at Queen Alexandra Elementary school; teaching physical health education, music, and resource, coaching major sports, and producing 2 concerts a year for the school.\u00a0 He has volunteered his time in leadership opportunitites such as past co-chair of the Vancouver Schools Music Teachers Association, current co-chair of the BC Music Educators Association Conference, and former member at large for the West Coast Symphony Board of Directors.\u00a0 \u00a0In his spare time Mr. Kumar enjoys playing floor hockey, being in the outdoors, and is an active musician\/DJ around town.<\/p>\n
