We look forward to seeing many parents + guardians at our November 20, 2019 PAC (Parents Advisory Committee) meeting at John Oliver Secondary, 7-8pm in the Learning Commons! We meet once a month to hear school news, do parent community building, plan small amounts of volunteering/fundraising, and share ideas so all JO kids have the best experience possible!
This month hear about what GRAD COMMITTEE is and activities your child can look forward to (there’s stuff happening all year). Meet other parents and ask questions!
The JO Parents Advisory Committee (PAC) exists to advocate for excellence in education, for the safety and well-being of our students, and provide an effective and meaningful avenue for involvement of parents as partners.
Agenda:
· Introductions. Quickly introduce PAC Exec + school admin. Show of hands for which parents having kids in which grades (helpful for later!)
· Review and approve minutes from last PAC meeting ** read in advance!
· Mr. Wilmann will be on hand to discuss VSB items, staff news, student news, school sports and happenings.
· School Liaison Teacher Report
· Grad 2020 Teacher/sponsors – review of Grad fundraising events planned and underway, review of grad/prom events – dates
· DPAC Report (what the district PAC would like us to know)
· Treasurer’s Report – an update on the gaming funds we allocated last month and discussion of future needs
· Fundraising Report
- Planning for February 2020 Family Fun Bingo
- 4 ways people can donate/help us raise funds
