Educational Session on Post Secondary Applications – Nov. 20, 2024, 7pm Virtual PAC meeting
Hello Parents and Caregivers!
I am excited to announce our very first educational session on a topic relevant to parents and caregivers: post secondary school applications! Fellow members of the JO community who are experts on the topic have offered to come and share important and timely information with us.

Who- Dr. Jack Wong, entered university at the age of 16 himself, completed Bachelor, Master and Doctor’s degree before the age of 25. He worked as a professor for 10 years and visited many countries which lead to his knowledge in helping people from different cultures. Now he has been in the field of education for over 30 years. Since 2005, he has helped thousands of local and international students from Vancouver, North Vancouver, and Vancouver Island to apply for post secondary education.
Mrs. Victoria Wong, mother of three, including a university graduate and two high school students. She was born into a family of educators. Her parents and grandparents were either teachers or school principals. She is a keen supporter of parent education and student empowerment.
Topics to be discussed include:
- At what Grade should you start planning for application of your post-secondary education?
- What are the basic requirements of Canadian undergraduate programs?
- What are the differences in admission requirements for US and Canadian undergraduate programs?
- How to write a good essay?
- How to choose a suitable and promising major (and minor)?
- How to successfully apply for your dream institute?
December meeting is in the works! Remember this event will take the place of our usual PAC meeting. It’ll be an adults only social event. We’re still working on the details but for now think: music and snacks. Fun but low key.
