Welcome to a new school year here at John Oliver! First, I’ll introduce myself, I’m Fatimah Hinds, your chair of the PAC executive committee. I have 2 students at JO, grade 8 and grade 11. We’re recently immigrated from Atlanta, GA in the southern US where I taught grade 7 and 8.

In the two years we’ve been here I’ve had time to get to know the school and Vancouver and now I’m hoping to get to know more of you! Every adult that has a student at JO is automatically a member of the PAC and as we begin a new year I want to invite you to get involved! We have some fresh goals and fun new plans to build upon this school community but it all starts with your presence. I hope to see you at our first PAC meeting of the year, this Wednesday 18 September at 7pm to be held virtually. (link to be sent out via email)

In the meantime, I would love to hear about your ideas and experiences at JO. Please feel free to email me at pac_jo@vsb.bc.ca  or if you see me in the halls feel free to stop me to chat. Keep an eye out for a survey about your interests and asking permission to share your email address with us here at PAC.
