Named for the street which was named for Sir John Franklin (1786 – 1847), an English Arctic explorer who disappeared while leading an expedition attempting to chart the Northwest Passage in what became the Canadian Arctic.<\/p>\n

Originally called Block 44 School and renamed in September 1913.<\/p>\n
