GORDON HAPPENINGS<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

As I reflect on the few short months I have been here, I am amazed by the community we have here at Gordon.\u00a0 Thank you to all the students and parents that made me feel so welcomed.\u00a0 It has been a hard year, but everyone has pulled together and we made it!<\/p>\n

It is time to say goodbye to our wonderful group of Grade 7 students.\u00a0 We will truly miss your hard work, leadership, and positive attitude.\u00a0 As well, to all our students that are leaving to go back home or to a different school, we hope that you will remember your time here at Gordon and know that you will be missed. I could not send you off without one of my favourite quotes:<\/p>\n

It is with a heavy heart that we have to say good-bye to some of our amazing staff members.\u00a0 Mme. Francoise, who has taught Late French Immersion at Gordon for several years, will be leaving Gordon for a district position in curriculum and assessment.\u00a0 Her energy, dedication and love of teaching will be truly missed!\u00a0 We would also like to say good-bye to Ms. Dyson, Ms. Carscadden, Ms. Lacroix, Ms. Kinzel, Ms. Juric and Ms. Mori who have all become part of our Gordon community in the short time that they have been here. \u00a0We wish you all the best in your new endeavours!\u00a0 Thank you as well to Aaron, one of our support staff, who has been covering in Ms. Lacroix\u2019s class.\u00a0 We really appreciated your calm demeanour and enthusiasm with the students.<\/p>\n

Lastly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents that served on the Parent Advisory Counsel (PAC) Executive as well as various committees.\u00a0 Despite all the challenges that we faced, your commitment to the students and parents here at Gordon never wavered.\u00a0 Our heartfelt thanks!<\/p>\n

Please note:<\/strong>\u00a0 If the school cannot verify your child\u2019s attendance at school\u00a0by<\/u>\u00a0noon on September 10, 2021<\/u>, your child\u2019s space may be given to another student on the school\u2019s wait-list as we are a FULL school.<\/p>\n

\"\"Our Social Justice Club (SJC) held a number of activities this month to help support and bring awareness for LGBTQ2+ youth.\u00a0 The buttons were a huge success and students and staff wore them with \u201cPRIDE\u201d.\u00a0 Thank you to families that donated a $1.\u00a0 We raised $200!\u00a0 This money will be going towards a local charity – RainCity Housing<\/a>, to support LGBTQ2+ youth in our community.<\/p>\n
