Planning 10 – Drug Research – Ms. Byrne

The following information about your Drug Research Assignment is from Ms. Byrne’s website located at
http://msmbyrne.edublogs.org/planning-10/drug-research-assignment/

In groups of two, you will need to choose a drug and create a presentation of ANY type (Powerpoint, Prezi, video, puppet show, anything else you feel like doing) discussing it.  Check out this page on the library’s blog to see some possibilities.  No two groups may choose the same drug.

Here is a list of some useful websites and sources for your research.

Process

Step 1: Choose your partner wisely – someone who will be committed to sharing the work.

Step 2: Choose your drug topic for research.  Remember only one group will present each drug per class.  Substances will be chosen on a first come, first served basis.  Be quick to see Ms. Byrne with your choice.

Step 3: Library orientation.  You will learn how to properly cite your sources.  You will need at least five citations.  One MUST be a book, one must be from the Consumer Health Complete Database, one must be from World Book Online Encyclopedia and two others of your choice.

Step 4: Gather information from sources such as credible websites (wikipedia can be a 6th source, but does not count as one of the five) and the books our library has selected for this project.  Check this out for some useful sources.

Step 5: Enter your information into your presentation.  Be sure to include images, videos or music and don’t forget to cite your sources for everything.  All information used in your presentation must be in your own words unless you are quoting.  Plagiarism will not be tolerated and will result in an automatic zero.

Step 6: Review your project and ensure you have included all necessary components.

Step 7: As a group, you will present your project to the class.
