I know this is late notice, but I just received this outreach information and wanted to make sure you get the notice about Screen Day – which is happening this Friday October 22 from 10:00 \u2013 1:00 at Pacific Cinematheque’s downtown theater. (poster attached)<\/p>\n

Screen Day will be showing the movie called, The Age of Stupid. The goal of screen day is to encourage youth to understand that there is a big burden that youth face concerning environmental issues. Although these issues may seem big, youth can make a change. Participants will be discussing how little changes in lifestyle (aspects such as food, waste, energy and water) can make a positive impact and can change the course our society seems to be set on.<\/p>\n

Seating is limited, so if people are interested they should email ECHO at echo4teens@gmail.com. The cost is $3, but if you reserve a spot by emailing ECHO before October 21st, admission will be $2. There will be limited free food, but items such as popcorn and candy will be sold at Pacific Cinematheque’s concession stand.<\/p>\n

Screen Day is organized by ECHO (Education Creating High school Opportunities). ECHO is a district-wide student sustainability group who meet once a week to find sustainable solutions in schools. ECHO gives high school students from across Vancouver the opportunity to meet with like-minded teens who share their passion for the environment and the building of our community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
