make a mash-up of sounds.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">***THIS IS A THREE CLASS PROJECT***<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Post to your blog when done with a written reflection of what you did, learnt and what interest you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Criteria:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>You track should be at least\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #000080\">90 seconds<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>I would like at least 6 <span style=\"color: #000080\"><strong>different tracks<\/strong><\/span>. \u00a0Mono, stereo is your choice, but with stereo, you can play with ‘panning’- shifting sounds from speaker to speaker.<\/li>\n<li>You should play with some of the <span style=\"color: #000080\"><strong>effects<\/strong><\/span>, such as Echo, phase, amplify. \u00a0Remember that I believe that the best way to learn something new is to play with it… so play with it!<\/li>\n<li>Think about <span style=\"color: #000080\"><strong>continuity<\/strong><\/span> in that does your mashup\/soundscape form a ‘unified\u00a0thing’ or is it just made up of multiple parts?<\/li>\n<li>Think about <span style=\"color: #000080\"><strong>textures, and layering<\/strong><\/span>. \u00a0You can play around with each tracks\u00a0volume, gain, Panning etc to make your mashup interesting.<\/li>\n<li>Think about <span style=\"color: #000080\"><strong>variation<\/strong><\/span>– \u00a0are you using ‘sampling’ from a wide\u00a0variety of sources?<\/li>\n<li>Have <span style=\"color: #000080\"><strong>Intent<\/strong><\/span> when making your mashup. \u00a0are you intending to compose something whimsical, political, comical, commercial, experimental\u00a0or ???<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you need a WAV. to MP3. converter use the\u00a0number of tracks \u00a0(90-150 seconds is the sweet spot)<\/li>\n<li>uses of effects (not \u00a0just effects for effect sake but how they add to the interest of the piece)<\/li>\n<li>Use of textures, layering, and variation- the subtleties of the piece. \u00a0(Does my attention get captures?)<\/li>\n<li>The overall continuity. \u00a0(Does the mashup\/soundscape work together from start to finish?)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Beyond my expectation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You used your device to sample your own sounds<\/li>\n<li>You wrote music, \u00a0played an instrument, sampled it and used it in your mashup.<\/li>\n<li>You seamlessly interwove actually songs into you mashup<\/li>\n<li>You made something\u00a0which takes my mind to somewhere else- you produced a work of art.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to upload to your blog?<\/h2>\n<p>If your file is small enough you can simply upload it as an audio file.<\/p>\n<p>If it is too big you have some options:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Simply use the website <a href=\"https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/\">soundcloud.com<\/a> to upload your file and then post the ULR into your blog. post.\u00a0 You will have t5o make an account.\u00a0 DO NOT PAY ANY MONEY!!!!\u00a0 EVERYTHING SHOULD BE FREE!!!<\/li>\n<li>Or add your file to a video\u00a0or slideshow then save it as a movie file and then upload to YouTube\u00a0and
