It is with great enthusiasm that I have accepted an offer from the South Hill BIA to work on a public art project planned for this fall on the North-East corner of 43rd and Fraser, adjacent to the Tim Hortons. This will be the spot for a new ‘Parklet’. It will be about 4′ by 22′ minus the curvy bit at the corner.
The plan calls for a pattern on the ground to designate the space. We are being entrusted with the job of coming up with the design and then actualizing it.
We will work up our design from small to large through a bunch of steps culminating in the fabrication of large templates on 1/16th sheets of door-skin or ???.
- We will be using the SH BAI Art Plan, written by Susan Cole, to inform our imagery and design.
- Concept Tim Hortons Fraser St Parklet
- 3D rendering for 5896 Fraser St renderings
Here are some of the designs we’ve been working on.
