It is a crisp autumn day and Small Number is helping his father to prepare the nets for tomorrow\u2019s salmon harvest. \u201c<em>There is a school of salmon by Straight Line Beach. These stories are based on the storytelling tradition of Aboriginal peoples.<\/p>\n<p>All of the stories have been translated into several Aboriginal languages, including\u00a0Blackfoot, Cree, Halq\u2019em \u0301eylem, Heiltsuk, Hul\u2019q\u2019umi\u2019num\u2019, Huu-ay- aht, Nisga\u2019a, Sliammon, and Squamish languages.<\/p>\n<p>All of the stories can be found at\u00a0 http:\/\/mathcatcher.irmacs.sfu.ca\/stories and on YouTube on &#8216;The IRMACS Centre&#8217; channel<\/p>\n<p>The first story,\u00a0<em>Small Number Counts to 100\u00a0<\/em>was inspired by narration from Ms. Rina Sinclair of the Siksika Nation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Small Number is a young boy who gets into a lot of mischief.\u00a0 He lives in a small village by the water with his mother and father.
