{"id":265,"date":"2020-04-23T21:22:14","date_gmt":"2020-04-24T04:22:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.vsb.bc.ca\/cpch\/?p=265"},"modified":"2020-04-24T14:31:57","modified_gmt":"2020-04-24T21:31:57","slug":"a-lovely-poem-about-these-crazy-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.vsb.bc.ca\/cpch\/2020\/04\/23\/a-lovely-poem-about-these-crazy-times\/","title":{"rendered":"A lovely poem about these crazy times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-226 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.vsb.bc.ca\/cpch\/files\/2020\/04\/Rainbow-300x217.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"332\" height=\"240\" \/>The Rainbow Children<\/span><br \/>\nBy Gemma Peacock (UK)<\/p>\n<p><em>(written by Gemma to reassure her sons during these difficult times)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The history books will talk of now,<br \/>\nThat time the world stood still.<br \/>\nWhen every family stayed at home,<br \/>\nWaved out from windowsills &#8211;<br \/>\nAt those they loved but could not hold,<br \/>\nBecause they loved them so.<br \/>\nYet, whilst they did they noticed all the flowers start to grow.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The sun came out, they can recall,<br \/>\nAnd windows, rainbows filled.<br \/>\nThey kicked a football in their yards,<br \/>\nUntil the night drew in.<br \/>\nThey walked each day but not too close,<br \/>\nThat time the world stood still.<br \/>\nWhen people walked straight down the roads,<br \/>\nThat once the cars did fill.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>They saw that people became ill,<br \/>\nThey knew the world was scared.<br \/>\nBut whilst the world stood still they saw,<br \/>\nHow much the whole world cared.<br \/>\nThey clapped on Thursdays from their doors,<br \/>\nThey cheered for the brave.<br \/>\nFor people who would risk their lives,<br \/>\nSo others could be saved.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The schools closed down, they missed their friends,<br \/>\nThey missed their teachers so.<br \/>\nTheir Mam\u2019s and Dad\u2019s helped with their work,<br \/>\nThey helped their minds to grow.<br \/>\nThe parents used to worry that,<br \/>\nAs schools were put on hold,<br \/>\nTheir children wouldn\u2019t have the tools,<br \/>\nThey\u2019d need as they grew old.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But history books will talk of them,<br \/>\nNow adults, fully grown.<br \/>\nThose little boys and girls back then,<br \/>\nThe ones who stayed at home.<br \/>\nThey\u2019ll tell you that they fixed this world,<br \/>\nOf all they would fulfil.<br \/>\nThe RAINBOW children building dreams,<br \/>\nThey\u2019d dreamed whilst time stood still.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>found on\u00a0 https:\/\/www.activityvillage.co.uk\/<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-228 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.vsb.bc.ca\/cpch\/files\/2020\/04\/Over-the-rainbow-284x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"419\" height=\"443\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Perhaps you could make a rainbow from cutouts of your family&#8217;s hands (and pawprints?)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; The Rainbow Children By Gemma Peacock (UK) (written by Gemma to reassure her sons during these difficult times) &nbsp; The history books will talk of now, That time the world stood still.
