Welcome to Ms. James’ Work Experience Pages!

Congratulations!  If you are reading this page it is because you are registered for Work Experience in either Grade 11 or 12, which means you are on your way to:
– gaining insight into potential careers;
– getting opportunities to learn about different work environments and develop skills that will help you in ANY career you pursue;
– making important and useful contacts to expand your network for future employment / co-op / internship opportunities AND possibly gain a reference for job and program applications; and
enhancing your resume with additional experiences that can be added to your current repertoire.

ASSIGNMENTS – PLEASE READ

All of Ms. James’ Work Experience students will need to complete 4 of the 5 assignments (in addition to the 90 hours of work experience) in order to successfully complete Work Experience.  The Workplace Safety assignments are MANDATORY.  For the remaining 4 assignments, you may choose to do a minimum of 3 out of the 4.  Please do not worry about the assignments being onerous!  These are all assignments which will help you with your future life in the working world AND some of these assignments may be useful/used in completing your Grad Transitions requirements.

2 – Resume and Cover Letter
3 – Preparing for an Interview
4 – References and Networking
5 – Digital Footprint and Job Seeking
