Block 1-2:  Year End Project is due June 14th

Block 2-4:  Year End Project is due June 15th

Block 1-3:  Year End Project is due June 18th

Portfolios for all blocks are due June 15th…submit your links now! Then you don’t have to worry!

A topic that you are curious about learning more about — as long as you can explain how it relates to Socials 11 this year.

  • Project proposal must be handed in to Mrs. Kwon for approval
  • It will be due the last class of the year!
  • (Double block class — no exceptions!  Early submissions appreciated)

 

ePortfolios are due June 15th

BIG HINT:  Submit the link to Moodle assignment asap then you don’t need to worry about submitting on time.  You can continue to work on your blog right up to the due date without worrying about “Did Mrs. Kwon get my ePortfolio?”

Spend some time reflecting on the videos we’ve watched and what you’ve learned and discussed on the First Nations.

Step 1:  On a sheet of paper brainstorm out the following:  What is new? shocking?  What did you not know?  You want to get as much as possible out onto your sheet.  List, mind map, use point form…

Step 2:  Afterwards you want to take a look at:  What is interesting?  You are narrowing down your brainstorming activity to what you find interesting.  You may or may not find that there is a pattern emerging from the brainstorming activity.

Step 3:  The next step is to come up with — what do you want to know?  learn more about?  See if you can formulate 3-5 well formed questions on the topics you are interested in.

Think about historical events that have impacted your family (or people of your ethnic group).  Why is it important to learn about historical contexts?

Discuss with your friends, family members and be prepared to discuss next day.

Choice 1:  Critical Thinking Challenges — you decide if you are going to write on Question 1 or 2…just one question

  • This should be a structured piece of written work, your ideas and your reflections and experiences.
  • Must be between 700 and 1000 words, double spaced, typed, standard font size 10 or 12.
  • don’t forget to check your spelling, grammar and to edit!

Choice 2:  Viewing Question — answer the 13 questions in as much detail as possible
