Track & Field Spring Break Training

Track & Field members….here’s your Spring Break Training (sorry for the delay): track training – spring break 2019

It’s separated by sprinters and middle distance. Don’t worry if you can’t do it all. Even if you can try 2 workouts a week, it’ll help keep you in tuned.

First meet is Wednesday April 3rd (day 1)!  Events: 1500, 400, Girls Javelin, Girls Discuss, Boys Shot Put, Boys High Jump, Girls & Boys Long Jump.  See league meet schedule on the track & field page for approximate times.

We will have a quick team meeting in the main gym at lunch, Monday, April 1st. This is important as I need to know which athletes are attending the Wednesday meet. Boys HJ practice will run right after. Will do Long Jump and starts practice April 1st, after school.

JO Track & Field 2018

JO students,

If you would like to be a member of the JO Track & Field team, please visit the Track & Field page above or see Ms. Matheson in the south gym for more info. No experience is needed and we don’t cut athletes so everyone can participate (as long as you come to practice and maintain your standing academically in your classes). You can also choose whether you want to run, jump or throw (or do a combo of these).

A tentative meet schedule is posted on the T&F page.

First light practice is Thursday, March 1st after school (we have gym space if weather is really bad). I’ll post the weekly schedules on this blog each Sunday night.

All commitment & medical forms MUST be handed in to Ms. Matheson by Thursday March 15th. If you are a playing on another JO team this season, you can also compete in T&F.  You do not pay the T&F athletic fee of $50. You just have to pay the fee of your other sport (to the other sponsor).

GO JOKERS!
