Warming Up the Eastside

warminguptheeastside-winter-2016Templeton Girls and Boys Clubs will be doing in collaboration with Help Change My City. Warming Up the Eastside is in its second year and last year we helped put together over 200 hundred bags for the people of the downtown eastside. This year our goal is 500 bags. There will be a Prep Day and a Give Day.

PREP DAY:

All volunteers from all over the city will come together at Templeton (in our cafeteria)  to organize, decorate and assemble these bags on Friday December 9th from 5:30 to 8pm. We will have treats for the volunteers as well as Christmas music. All ages are welcome – bring your family!!

GIVE DAY:

On Saturday Dec 10  at 11 am, any volunteers will meet at 488 Carral Street to distribute the gift bags. Last year they were gone in 25 minutes!!

Gene Researcher for a Week Program

GRFAW is a unique experience for high school students to spend a week of spring break immersed in a genetics lab.

Open to any grade 11 or 12 students with an interest in scientific research and/or genetics. Students will be able to get acquainted with the daily life of a graduate student in a working lab, and be able to make connections and ask questions beyond what they learn in the classroom.
